Q + A

What is there to do up in the finger lakes other than go to wineries?

There is so much you can do and so many beautiful places to visit. The small town of Geneva ( top of lake Seneca) has some really cute shops and good places to eat. Watkins Glenn (bottom of lake Seneca) had a bunch of shops and great food, but the Watkins Glenn water fall hike is breathtaking. It is a must see if you're in the region. - wear sneakers and be prepared for a lot of steps. Taughannock Falls Is located on the west side of Cayuga lake and is TOTALLY worth the drive. You will have a front row seat to a 215 foot water fall that can be the most spectacular view. ( almost 50 ft taller than Niagara) There are a few ways you can see the falls. The Gorge trail is at the base of the falls and is a flat easy one mile hike to the falls. You can also view the falls from above at the upper deck and there is a decent 3 mile hike down to the gorge and to the bottom of the falls. There is also a wonderful place to stop and eat on your way back to Seneca that offers some good ciders and really good farm to table food. Fingerlakes cider house. ( 10 mins from the falls)
